Alcoholics Anonymous Resources

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is an international community of alcoholics who meet in groups. The primary purpose of A.A. members is to stay sober and help other alcoholics do the same. A.A. was the first twelve-step program and was the source and has been the model for all similar recovery groups. A.A. teaches that to recover an alcoholic must abstain completely from alcohol. It offers a community of recovering people who help each other and "work" the 12 steps. They meet in small groups around the country, and although it has a central communication office, each group is essentially autonomous of the others. A.A. believes that the relative success of their program is owed to their opinion that a recovering alcoholic has a special ability to bond and provide insight into the necessity of sobriety to the alcoholic.

The resources broadcast on the Recovery Broadcast Network are not a substitute for attending regular meetings, getting a sponsor and working the 12 Steps. These three actions are the foundation of any sucessful recovery program. The resources provided on RBN are meant to be additional tools in your recovery arsenal.

Please be advised that the Recovery Broadcast Network is not associated with Alcoholics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous World Service in any way. We feature the Big Book and 12 Steps because the program of Alcoholics Anonymous works. Helping others recover from the disease of addiction is our only concern.
